Basora was born from Barcelona’s nocturnal pulse, in a very creative moment for the city. Looking back, what remains of that initial energy in the studio today?

That same energy remains, mixed with a bit of nostalgia for physical formats, but also with the curiosity to keep exploring new ways of designing through technology and new media. Design is evolution, you have to stay up to date without getting stuck in the past. The beauty of this profession is that through projects, you learn about very different worlds, and in the end, you become a small expert in each of them.

    Josep Basora

I’m Josep Basora, a graphic designer and creative director based in Barcelona. My work starts from a simple idea: to design slowly in order to communicate better. In an age of speed, I still believe in the value of time, detail, and processes that allow each piece to have meaning and weight. Rooted in Barcelona’s visual culture, my practice moves between identity, art direction, and editorial design. I’m interested in how visuals can convey emotion and meaning — from a single letterform to a complete brand. Every project is a balance between intuition and method, emotion and clarity, where the physical and digital coexist as parts of the same language. I see design as a craft built on precision and curiosity, where every decision, no matter how small, can shift the way an idea is perceived. I still believe that good design doesn’t need to shout — it just needs to be noticed.
